DESCRIPTION: The Duty Manager has the overall responsibility for a daily shift and will ensure that all functions are performed in a consistent manner with agreed procedures and protocol, TSA regulations and in accordance with client standards.

DUTIES: (The position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)
-Direct, oversee and coordinate shift of airport agents of multiple contracts.
-Responsible for daily staffing and development of manpower schedules.
-Address station attendance and performance deficiencies, and administer corrective measures in accordance with Human Resources policies.
-The Duty Manager will ensure that all personnel are punctual, professional and execute all duties in accordance with their job descriptions for all activities at the airport. Ensure grooming standards are adhered to on a shift.
-The Manager will be responsible to ensure cost effective measures including limiting overtime.
-Prepare and report daily client/shift reports, log entries; analyze and review operational activity, provide incident reporting.
-Perform shift briefings and ensure they are communicated effectively and efficiently with staff.
-Ensure proper coverage for client accounts and monitor post start and end times.
-Liaise between airlines and local staff to ensure that all safety, security and customer service guidelines are being consistently met.
-Responsible for the safeguarding of all company equipment and vehicles.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Duty Manager is responsible for management of contracted functions and activities and ensures effective shift management of operations. S/he will report directly to the Operations Manager. Candidate must have excellent customer/client relations qualifications, organizational skills. Weekend and shift work required.

-2 years experience working in the Aviation industry
-High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required
-Must be able to pass a 10 year verifiable background check, including criminal, employment, education, and personal references;
-Must possess valid State issued Driver’s License and have a clean driving history;
-Must be able to pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration;
-Must be able to pass a Security Background Check as administered by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol;
-Must be able to pass a Security Background Check and Training as administered by the Houston Airport Systems;
-Must have or by willing to obtain pre-employment a valid security guard license and maintain throughout employment
-Must be able to pass all initial training classes and exams;
-Knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
-Ability to express oneself clearly, concisely both orally and in writing.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment without getting distracted.
-Ability to work multiple shifts, weekends
-Ability to multi-task effectively.
-Ability to relate effectively to employees, air carrier employees, airport agencies.
